Emilie Blichfeldt’s The Ugly Stepsister has been one of my favourite films of 2025 and so I was delighted when Second Sight asked me to contribute to their forthcoming UHD release of the film. For the new disc I provided a video essay that looked at Blichfeldt’s interpretation of the character of Cinderella. The Ugly Stepsister is available to pre-order now ahead of its release on 23rd February 2026.
