Over the last couple of years I have been able to work on several releases from boutique label Second Sight. Details about each can be found below:
It Follows
For the release of It Follows I wrote an essay that analysed how It Follows subverted the teen slasher genre.
Ginger Snaps
As part of Second Sight’s Ginger Snaps trilogy release I wrote about the history of the werewolf experience from the feminine point of view.
The Sacrament
For the Second Sight release of Ti West’s The Sacrament I delved into how the Jonestown massacre influenced the film.
Late Night With The Devil
In the Second Sight release of Late Night with the Devil I write about the Faustian deal within the film, and how it aligns with other onscreen outings.
Talk to Me
Talk to Me arrives from Second Sight on 16th June 2025. For the release I write about how teenagers think of themselves as invincible and how that becomes their undoing in the film.
MaXXXine
Available on 17th November, Second Sight will be releasing MaXXXine on 4K UHD. Included on the disc is my video essay entitled ‘The Whole World’s Gonna Know My Name.’
The Ugly Stepsister
On 23rd February 2026 Second Sight will release Emilie Blichfeldt’s The Ugly Stepsister on UHD. On the disc I have a video essay that looks at Blichfeldt’s very different interpretation of the Cinderella character.
