Brock O’Hurn [Interview]

The Resort arrives on DVD today. It has already been available on Digital HD for a few weeks, but now you have the opportunity to own the film forever. Directed by Taylor Chien, the story centres on an aspiring writer with a keen interest in the paranormal, Lex. Her work-in-progress book is focused on a hotel on the Hawaiian island of Kilahuna. The resort has been closed off from the world for a number of years after a spate of strange occurrences. Knowing that the best way to get into the right creative space would be to take a walk through the deserted hotel itself, Lex’s friends arrange a secret tour for her Birthday. The trip soon takes a deadly turn however, as the dangers of the stories quickly reveal themselves to be true.

A native Californian, Brock O’Hurn has been making a living as a fitness model and actor. He has appeared in several of Tyler Perry’s projects, including both Boo! A Madea Halloween movies, and has been steadily carving out a career within the comedy genre in supporting roles. Things are set to change now though as this week’s digital release, The Resort, has him shift into the horror genre, and sees him take up a more central role. He plays Chris, one of the quartet of friends who find themselves terrorised by the ominously named Half-Faced Girl in the aforementioned deserted holiday resort.

This interview was edited together by Paul Heath and was originally on THN. The Resort is available now on Digital HD and DVD.
